Lactase is an enxyme produced by the brush border epithelial surface, by epithelial cells. In humans, lactase production declines rapidly after weaning, giving rise to various degres of lactose intolerance.
Lactase Powder is a convenient way to minimize lactose intolerance. As a potent enxyme preparation, Lactase Powder converts lactose to glucose and galactose, and can be used to alleviate or decrease the degree of lactose intolerance.
Although, Lactose Powder can be added in water or juice and drunk prior to consumption of dairy products, it can also be added directly to milk to digest the lactase portion of the milk prior to consumption.
Recommended adult intake: Add one scoop to water or juice prior to consumption of dairy products or as professionally directed.
Each scoop contains 12.6 mg Lactase (from Aspergillus oryzae providing 615 lactase units). Other ingredients: Maltodextrin.
Risks: If you have diabetes or galactosemia, consult your healthcare practitioner prior to use. If symptoms persist or worsen, discontinue use and consult your healthcare practitioner. Headaches, heartburn, bloating and hypersentivity have been known to occur, in which case, discontinue use.
